How to resize an image online

  1. Add your image. Click the upload area, drag a file onto it, or paste a screenshot straight from your clipboard. JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF all work.
  2. Pick a size. Choose a social media preset, or type an exact width and height in pixels. Keep “Lock aspect ratio” on to scale without distortion, or switch to the Crop tab to frame a specific part of the image.
  3. Download. Choose PNG, JPEG, WebP or AVIF and a compression level. The file you download is exactly the size shown in the preview.

Resize or crop: which one do you need?

Resizing changes an image’s pixel dimensions but keeps everything in the frame. Use it to shrink a large photo so a page loads faster, or to hit an upload limit.

Cropping removes part of the frame to change its shape. Use it when a platform needs a different aspect ratio than your photo, like turning a landscape shot into a 9:16 Story.

Social presets do both at once: they crop to the platform’s ratio from the center, then resize to its recommended pixel size.
