Troubleshooting

Can't sign in with Google or Microsoft

Fix a Hub sign-in with Google or Microsoft that does not complete or is cancelled, and what to ask your administrator if your organization blocks the app.

Problem

On the Hub sign-in page at hub.twominutereports.com, you select Sign in with Google or Sign in with Microsoft. The sign-in does not complete.

The Google Sheets add-on and the Google Data Studio connector do not use Hub sign-in. This page is about signing in to the Hub. If a connection stopped getting data, see Token expiration and authentication.

What you see

When the sign-in does not complete, the Hub sign-in page opens again and shows one of these messages:

MessageWhat it meansWhat to do
Google couldn't complete that sign-in. Try again, or contact support if it keeps happening.Google or Microsoft sent you back, but the sign-in failed. The message names Microsoft for a Microsoft sign-in.Try again. If it occurs again, email [email protected]. Support can see the reason that Google or Microsoft gave.
Sign-in was cancelled before it finished. Try again.Google or Microsoft sent you back without a completed sign-in. For example, you closed the permission screen.Try again, and allow the permissions. If you get this message each time, see the next section.

Sometimes you do not come back to the Hub. Google or Microsoft shows its own page, which says that the app is blocked or needs approval from an administrator.

If your organization blocks the app

A Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra ID administrator can control which apps the accounts of the organization can sign in to. If your organization does not allow Two Minute Reports, you can see:

  • A Google or Microsoft page that says that the app is blocked or needs admin approval.
  • Sign-in was cancelled before it finished each time that you try.

If you try again, you get the same result. Only your administrator can change this setting. Ask them to allow Two Minute Reports:

  • Google Workspace: in the Google Admin console, in the settings for third-party app access.
  • Microsoft Entra ID: in the Microsoft Entra admin center, give admin consent for Two Minute Reports, or change the user consent settings.

For the steps, your administrator can refer to the Google or Microsoft documentation. If they need more information about the app, email [email protected].

Sign in with an email code

You can sign in to the Hub with an email code instead of Google or Microsoft:

  1. Go to hub.twominutereports.com.
  2. Enter the email address of your account, and select Continue.
  3. Select Sign in with email code.
  4. Open the email from Two Minute Reports, and enter the code.

If you have two-factor authentication on, the Hub then asks for your second step. See Can't sign in with two-factor authentication.
